My name is Isiah Michael-Exavier Washburn, and I have just been diagnosed with Hurler Syndrome.  This disease is very rare, incurable and fatal without immediate treatment.  Because my disease is so rare, there are only two hospitals in the United States that can treat my condition.  Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina is the hospital that has agreed to do my chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. 

Without this treatment, I will die.  My family would deeply appreciate any donation you are able to give.  We will be spending 6 months in North Carolina for my treatments.   Donations for the Isiah Fund can be sent or dropped off at any Merrill Bank location, just reference it as the Isiah Fund.  Donations can be mailed to Merril Bank at  P.O.  The following are some of the fund raising efforts that are currently being organized:

•       July 19th - Bottle Drive in Plymouth Maine

•       August 2nd & 3rd - Multi-Family Yard Sale, 38 Elm Street Newport

•      August 29^th - Benefit dinner, dance & auction  (live band “Flashback”)  Dance will be at Millennium Wedding and Convention Center from 6pm to midnight, tickets can be purchased at Millennium Wedding and Convention Center, 416 Oxbow Road, Palmyra, ME   Ph.(207)368-2352

•      September 27th - Davis Family Gospel Concert - Calvary Baptist Church, Grove Street Newport 6:30 p.m.
